Whether you donate to our Furniture for Families program, with items going directly to those in need, or take advantage of our Premium Pickup Services to easily and affordably remove furniture you no longer need from your home, your support of the Furniture Bank will ensure that vulnerable Metro Detroit families are living in a stable, dignified home.
We make donating furniture easy and offer FREE pickup for select items that are placed on the porch or in the garage. We’ll take items out of your home for as low as $50, with our Premium Pickup Services starting at just $75.
“Furniture for Families” Items We Collect:
- Mattresses – Any Size – Gently-Used
- Box Springs – Any Size – Gently-Used
- Sofas, Loveseats, Sofabeds or Sectional Sofas – Gently-Used
- Dressers or Chest of Drawers – Gently-Used
- Dining/Kitchen Tables – Gently-Used
- Dining/Kitchen Chairs – At Least 2 – Gently-Used
- Living Room Chairs and/or Recliners – Gently-Used
- Coffee Tables, End Tables and/or Nightstands – Gently-Used
Furniture for Families
“We’ll Take It Out For You”* Service
Furniture donations in gently-used condition that can be categorized to be distributed to families via our “Furniture for Families” program (see list of items above) can take advantage of our We’ll Take It Out For You* pickup service for a flat rate of $50. Our bonded and insured professional movers will carefully remove items from within your home. This convenient service is a tremendous value, with monies collected supporting the Furniture Bank mission of providing beds and furniture to children and families in need.
Final determination of “gently-used” is left up to the discretion of our driver/moving staff and if the item(s) are suitable for this program. We require items to be gently-used to ensure our families have items that they can be proud to have within their homes as they are becoming re-established. Additionally, the items we collect typically come into our warehouse off of our trucks and are turned around within 24-48 hours to a family. Because of this, we do not professionally clean or repair these items.
Additionally, our movers can assist with the removal of other items through our Premium Pickup Services which fall outside of the scope of our “Furniture for Families” program.
