Michael A. Brillati

Michael A. Brillati
Michael Brillati is SVP of NFP, and AON Company. Prior to NFP, Michael was Chief Executive Officer of Salus Group, a benefits consulting, brokerage and administration firm acquired by NFP in 2024. Michael is managing partner of Oxford Capital Partners, a Real Estate and Investment Holdings Company and was formerly on the Board of Directors of Level One Bank and Level One Bancorp, Inc. Level One Bank is a publicly traded company listed on the Nasdaq, acquired by First Merchants Bank. Mr. Brillati is also a board member of Brilliant Detroit, a non-profit that buys homes in underserved Detroit neighborhoods and converts them to free early childhood learning centers.
Dr. Anita Hicks
Associate Director of the Oakland Center
Dr. Anita Hicks
Dr. Anita Hicks is an organizational leadership expert whose professional career has included leadership positions in four distinct industries— corporate law, aviation, professional sports, and higher education. She has earned a reputation as a brilliant administrator, a creative problem-solver, and a leading strategist for building organizational readiness for workforce change in response to societal trends.
Dr. Hicks is a powerful and engaging public speaker, corporate trainer, and workshop facilitator on leadership, resilience, generational trends, negotiations, and communication and relationship strategies. For the past thirteen years, Dr. Hicks has worked in higher education in various leadership positions. Currently, she is the Associate Director of the Oakland Center, at Oakland University (Rochester, MI). The Center is a self-sustaining auxiliary operation where she oversees operations, including over 8,000 annual events.
Dr. Hicks has served as an integral member of the Oakland University Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council. She is a diversity advocate and chairs an employee pathways initiative with a focus on advancing women, underrepresented minorities, LGBTQ+ individuals, persons with disabilities, and military veterans. She has lent her expertise toward the establishment of high impact employee resource groups on campus.
Dr. Hicks made history as the first graduate of the Oakland University Doctorate of Education program. In recognition of her professional accomplishments and productivity, she has been selected as a Michigan Chronicle Women of Excellence, University of Phoenix Faculty Research Scholar of the Year, and Michigan American Council on Education (MI-ACE) Women’s Network institutional representative. She has also been awarded a Micro Grant for establishing an employee job shadow program entitled “Half Day in the Life of Another”.

Dr. Isaiah McKinnon
Former Detroit Police Chief and Deputy Mayor of Detroit
Dr. Isaiah McKinnon
Isaiah McKinnon, Ph.D., associate professor of education, teaches the course Society and Education. He is a former Deputy Mayor and Chief of Police of the City of Detroit. He won an Emmy as the NBC News/Safety Consultant. He has authored three books and co-authored two others, in addition to numerous articles on crime victims.
McKinnon has met six U.S. Presidents and Nelson Mandela, and has appeared on the "Today Show", "Good Morning America", "Oprah", and "The History Channel." He is a national motivational/inspirational speaker to Fortune 500 companies and schools. He earned his B.A. from Mercy College, M.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy and doctorate from Michigan State University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the United States Secret Service School. McKinnon joined Detroit Mercy in 1998.

Dr. Molly O'Shea

Dr. Molly O'Shea
Molly O’Shea graduated from undergrad and medical school education at the University of Michigan. Dr Molly completed her residency in pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. Since then, she has been both a practicing pediatrician and independent practice owner. Her practices, Birmingham and Campground Pediatrics, have behavioral health integration and serve families in southeast Michigan.
Dr Molly has been involved in the American Academy of Pediatrics throughout her career as a journal editor, national CME planner, and faculty member. She is now one of the Academy’s official spokespeople; writing op/eds and providing media interviews on various topics including suicide prevention, technology and children, vaccines, and water safety. As an Ambassador for the AAP Center of Excellence on Social Media and Youth Mental Health, Dr Molly provides information to parents, educators, pediatricians and media outlets about the impact of social media on youth and tools to keep kids safe and healthy in the digital age.
Dr Molly is a sought-after keynote speaker known for her ability to connect with audiences. She gives practical, real-life evidence-based strategies with humor and heart. She has spoken for companies including LinkedIn, Google, and American Axle and been featured on NBC NOW, ABC's Good Morming America and in national PSAs about internet safety. You can see Dr Molly weekly on her local CBS affiliate where she is featured on the morning news program talking about health and wellness.
In her free time, Dr Molly loves to cook, swim, and do The New York Times puzzles.
