As summer comes to a close and children head back to school, many of us are settling into the familiar routines that autumn brings. For the Furniture Bank of Metro Detroit, this season is one of renewed energy, purpose, and opportunity.
September marks an exciting milestone for our organization as we open the doors to our NEW Madison Heights home. On September 9, we will celebrate with a ribbon cutting from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., joined by our special guest, Hilary Farr. This new space represents far more than a building. It will allow us to serve more families, accept more donated furniture, and create a better experience for the thousands of children and parents who rely on us each year.
The excitement continues with our annual Furniture Flip Bash, where creativity and compassion come together to help furnish homes for families rebuilding their lives. It is a wonderful reminder of what is possible when our community rallies around a shared purpose.
As we head into one of our busiest seasons, I invite you to continue making a difference. Whether you donate furniture, volunteer your time, attend an event, or make a financial gift, your support helps transform empty houses into warm, welcoming homes where families can begin again.

On its own, it may not seem like much.
But when we give together, it becomes so much more.
5 people giving $5 raises $25.
20 people giving $5 raises $100.
100 people giving $5 raises $500.
This month we are participating in the Rocket Community Challenge, where every gift made helps families rebuilding their lives after hardship. Even better, the nonprofit organizations that rally the most community support during this month-long challenge can earn an additional $25,000!
