2025 Impact Snapshot
Our Impact on Metro Detroit
So far this year, 1,800 Metro Detroit families have received the essential furniture they need to create safe, stable homes.
That includes 15,600 household items delivered to 5,600 individuals — 2,600 of them children.
Because of your support, empty spaces are becoming homes filled with dignity and hope.

Share Comfort. Share Warmth
Dear Friends,
Michigan winters are a powerful reminder of just how much warmth matters. While Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted an early Spring, we know it’s not Spring until May.
As cold continues and the snow continues to fall, our drivers are on the road every day, picking up donated furniture and delivering it to families who need it most. Their dedication never wavers. No matter the weather, they show up with strength, compassion, and an unwavering belief in our mission. Because of them, children have beds to sleep in, families gather around tables, and houses begin to feel like homes even on the coldest days.
At the same time, we are facing real challenges. A sluggish economy, fewer people moving — which is historically our strongest predictor of donations — and an especially cold and snowy winter have all slowed the flow of furniture. But while donations may slow, the need does not. As of today, 120 families are waiting for the essential furnishings that provide comfort, dignity, and stability.
This is where YOU can help. Your voice matters. Your social capital matters. When you tell your family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and social media networks that the Furniture Bank needs gently used chairs, tables, mattresses, and dressers, it makes a difference. Many people have an extra item they no longer need — they simply may not know where it can do the most good.
When you share our mission, you help connect that extra chair or table to a mother rebuilding her life, a child who needs a bed of their own, a senior living on a fixed income, or a veteran starting over. And the best part is, we can pick it up.
With gratitude and optimism,

1,000 Beds Challenge Follow Up:
Introducing Dream Day Detroit

Thanks to the incredible success of our 1,000 Beds Challenge, we are turning generosity into joy in a very special way.
We are proud to partner with Mitch Albom’s charity SAY Detroit to host Dream Day Detroit, a celebration designed to uplift 100 Detroit school children who currently do not have a bed.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at SAY Detroit Play Center at Lipke Park, Dream Day Detroit will be a two-hour party filled with pizza, activities, games, and exciting giveaways.
During the event, families will have the opportunity to sign up and schedule delivery for a brand-new bed and bedding. While the beds will be delivered shortly after the event, Dream Day Detroit is about creating a moment of excitement and affirmation for these children, reminding them that something special is on the way.
This is more than a sign-up event. It is a celebration of hope, dignity, and community. It is a powerful reminder to children that they are seen, valued, and supported by an entire community that believes they deserve comfort and a place of their own.
We would love for you to be part of this joyful day. If you have time and would like to volunteer, please email us at info@furniture-bank.org.
Together, we are not just delivering beds. We are delivering comfort, stability, and hope.

Demand For:
Dressers & Dining Tables!
We are currently in need of dressers and dining room tables and chairs for families waiting to receive furniture. Items should be in good condition — structurally sound and free of major surface wear.

Our list of families awaiting furniture continues to grow, and the sooner we can deliver items to fill their space, especially in these colder months, the better.
Please call with any questions at 248-332-1300 or donate now on our website.
Thank you for your help in making someone’s house a home!
